Van Conversions
We have been converting vans since the 1950s when we started out on Morris 1000 and Mini vans. We specialise in all panel van window conversions including camper van window fitment, the VW Transporter T4 and T5 series being our most popular. We carry T4/T5 popular glasses from stock and we also carry out installs on Mercedes Sprinter, Vito and V Class side and rear window conversions and Ford Transit vans amongst others.
Whether you want privacy glass fitted, a sliding window where there wasn't one before, or your rear doors or tailgate glazed, we can do it. We carry from stock, various edge finishing trims for that factory finished look. We've put together a step by step guide to show you how we carry out your installation so you can see exactly how your van will be prepared, worked on and completed to the highest standards.
Step 1
Before installation can begin, the vans paintwork is cleaned and prepared ready to begin cutting.
Step 2
This is the first cut to allow access for electric sheers. It is made after an inspection of the interior to ensure we have removed any obstructions.
Step 3
We then proceed with a rough cut removing a large proportion of the panel. This reduces the size of the final finished cut so as not to distort the pinched area.
Step 4
The final cut is now complete and the exposed edge is treated with two coats of anti-rust paint and primer. The inner panel is now fixed to the outer panel.
Step 5
This is the new factory specification window and trim assembled and awaiting polyurethane. This window has also been privacy tinted in our own on-site tint workshop. In this case, it has been tinted to a dark midnight specification.
Step 6
The window and trim are now fixed in place and temporarily taped to ensure a perfect fit every time.
Step 7
After the curing of the adhesive, the tape is removed and the glass is cleaned and polished inside and out. This van window conversion is now complete.
